Thomas Salvati, CIC, CPIA, CPRM
Thomas ( Tommy ) Salvati is the President and Founder of The Salvati Insurance Group, Inc., a people-first, community-rooted insurance agency built on doing the right thing, treating people like family, and protecting what matters most. Since opening the agency in 2010, Tommy has led with heart, purpose, and a relentless commitment to service creating a culture where clients feel understood, and team members feel supported.
Before founding the agency, Tommy earned degrees from Oakland Community College and Oakland University. He then spent years in the hospitality and gaming industries, mastering customer experience, player development, and high-energy service environments. Those years shaped his signature style warm, personable, fun, and relentlessly focused on making people feel taken care of. That same mentality fuels the culture at TSiG today.
A second-generation Italian American and fluent Italian speaker, Tommy s roots run deep in Metro Detroit s Italian community. He serves as Vice President of the Italian American Cultural Society, a Director of the Federation of Abruzzo (FADM), and an at-large board member for Big I Michigan. Community, culture, and giving back aren t side projects they re woven into everything he does.
Professionally, Tommy holds three national insurance designations Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA), and Certified Personal Risk Manager (CPRM). His expertise spans commercial insurance, group benefits, workers compensation, surety bonding, and personal risk management for affluent families. He and his team are known for tailoring protection plans that bring peace of mind, clarity, and real security to the people and businesses they serve.
But Tommy s approach is different from most. He believes insurance isn’t about policies s about people. It’s about protecting families, preserving legacy, and doing right by clients even when no one is looking. He leads with heart and expects the same from his team.
At home, Tommy and his wife Lisa the heart and soul of their world live in Washington Township with their blended Brady Bunch of seven children: Anthony, Alina, Andrew, Tyler, Betty, and their niece and nephew, Warren and Ellie, whom they have proudly helped care for since their mother s passing. Family is the foundation for everything Tommy builds, and the reason he works tirelessly to create a life filled with love, stability, and legacy.
For Tommy, the mission is simple:
Be good humans. Do the right thing. Protect people like family. And build a community and career that his children will be proud of. –
We just happen to sell insurance.

Amit Jain
Amit Jain, Partner & Chief Operating Officer, grew up in a family of engineers and doctors. Nobody sat him down and told him which one to pick — it was just understood. Kids of immigrants don’t get to freelance with their futures. Your parents crossed an ocean, worked twice as hard for half as much, and the way you say thank you is with a degree that means something.
So he did his part. Amit earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan — the old General Motors Institute, a school built by the auto industry for the auto industry, where you don’t just study engineering, you co-op your way through it. From there he spent more than twenty years in automotive engineering, including work on multiple launch phases of the Ford F-250 Super Duty. Big trucks, bigger deadlines, zero room for “close enough.” That’s where he learned how to build a process that holds under pressure.
And then he broke the chain.
In the summer of 2022, Amit walked away from the path that was laid out for him and joined The Salvati Insurance Group. Not because insurance was the safe move — because of who was standing on the other side of it. He and Tommy Salvati met in a boxing class at nineteen years old and have been best friends ever since. Two guys born in this country to parents who weren’t. One Italian, one raised on a very different set of family expectations, both carrying the exact same thing: a debt they can never repay, a name they intend to protect, and no interest in doing anything halfway.
Today Amit is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer of TSiG, and he runs the day-to-day of the agency. He builds the systems, holds the standards, and makes sure every person on the team has exactly what they need to take care of the client in front of them. Twenty years of engineering discipline pointed at an industry that badly needs it — that’s the whole idea. His favorite part of the job isn’t the operations. It’s being in a position to serve the coworkers, the clients, and the community all at once.
Off the clock, Amit is a first-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a serious fitness guy — which explains a lot about how he runs a company. Jiu-Jitsu doesn’t reward the strongest person in the room. It rewards the one who stayed calm, thought two moves ahead, and kept showing up. He lives in Metro Detroit with his wife and their two children.
His family expected an engineer. What they got was a man who builds things that protect other families for a living.
Turns out that was always the same job.
